British author Chris McCrudden has created a hilarious universe that speaks to issues of the modern world in a brilliant, and at times, quite bonkers way. ⁣Imagine a world where humans become so frustrated with repetitive memes on the internet that they stop using it. The internet develops intelligence which it passes to machines and household appliances, which then realise how superior they are to humans and take control of the human race.

Battlestar Suburbia is a quest-driven science fiction novel in the classic sense, with a futuristic twist, that fans of Douglas Adams, Doctor Who, and even Red Dwarf - if anybody remembers that show - will love. You’ll laugh out loud, but you’ll also be made to think, which is what I enjoyed the most about this profound but highly enjoyable romp through space.
